Belgard Fence Installation: The Woodland Hills Owner’s Guide
Belgard fence installation in Woodland Hills typically runs $3,500 – $9,000 for a full perimeter run, including posts, panels, hardware, and concrete footings. We carry Belgard-compatible fence components in our local inventory and can match most current-series Belgard fence lines same-week, not same-month. Most owners discover a problem the hard way: a post leaning after last winter’s rain, a gate dragging because the hinge post shifted, or a top rail that’s started to separate from the post cap.
Which Belgard Models This Applies To
Belgard doesn’t make traditional wood fencing. Their fence products are engineered post-and-panel systems built from reinforced concrete composites and architectural precast, which handle California sun and the occasional mudslide season far better than pressure-treated lumber. The current catalog we match against includes the Fence & Gate Collection, the Estate Series, and the Modular Stone Screen system. The older Westwood and Manchester lines still show up on hillside homes above Topanga Canyon Boulevard and in Warner Center tract builds done between 2005 and 2015. Belgard fence systems use a proprietary post-and-railing interlock: the panel tongue slides into a channel inside the post, and the lock is tensioned with an Allen-key retainer at the post cap. The sizing you’ll see on the panel sticker is the critical identifier, not the series name, because some series share the same post extrusion but accept different panel depths. If the panel sticker is weathered off, measure the panel tongue from face to face. Standard Belgard patios use 8/4 panels, but their fence systems typically run 8/10. Installing the wrong-depth panel in the right post channel is like trying to seat a Honda key in a Ford ignition: it won’t seat, and forcing it cracks the channel. Sawyer Remodel Woodland Hills is an independent contractor. We’re not affiliated with Belgard or any of its distributors. That’s exactly why we tell it to you straight about what works and what doesn’t.

Signs Your Belgard Fence Installation Is Failing
- Post lean at the top third. Concrete composite posts don’t warp, so visible lean means the footing itself has begun to shear. In Woodland Hills, this usually traces back to post-depth corners being cut: 18-inch footings in soil that expands and contracts with drought and rain cycles will eventually shift.
- Gate that scrapes the ground on the latch side. The hinge post has moved away from the gate. You can shim the hinges temporarily, but the real fix is pulling the post, repacking the base with compacted road base, and re-setting the concrete collar to full depth.
- Panel rattle when the Santa Ana winds kick up. The internal retainer has loosened or the post channel has worn. A fence that rattles at 25 mph gusts will be the fence that lets go at 45 mph. Post caps with stripped Allen-key receivers are the usual culprit.
- Hairline cracks running horizontally through a panel face. This is sun-cycling fatigue, not impact damage. Panels that bake in direct Woodland Hills afternoon sun with no shade will eventually micro-crack at the tongue line. Sealing helps, but once the crack reaches the edge, the panel’s load-bearing is compromised.
- White mineral buildup at the post base. Efflorescence is normal for concrete products, especially where irrigation overspray hits the post. Chronic buildup plus a soft, chalky surface means the post has been alkali-soaked for years and is slowly degrading from the bottom up.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Full Belgard fence installation in Woodland Hills lands at $3,500 – $9,000 installed. The range breaks down by linear footage, post depth, panel series, and whether we’re pulling an old concrete footer or setting new posts in virgin soil. A short 40-foot side-yard run with six posts and four panels usually comes in near the bottom of that range. A 120-foot perimeter with double gates, corner posts, and hillside terracing on the back side of a Warner Center property runs toward the top. Every quote we hand you includes:
- Removal and disposal of the old fence line (unless you want to pull it yourself)
- Crushed-rock base material under each post
- Full-depth concrete footings, minimum 24 inches, with code-required depth below grade
- New panels, posts, caps, and hardware matched to your existing Belgard series
- Gate hardware reset and re-alignment
- Written warranty on the installation work
We quote parts and labor separately on every job, because you should see exactly what the materials cost and what our time costs. No lump-sum mystery math.
DIY or Call Us?
You can absolutely handle the inspection side: check the post caps, look for panel wobble at the corners, and note where the gate scrapes. What you shouldn’t do yourself is pull a 200-pound concrete post out of an 18-inch footing with a farm jack and a come-along. They drop fast when the footing finally releases, and they don’t care about your feet. The same goes for re-setting posts in hillside soil that’s been saturated by winter rain. A fencing post set too shallow in saturated soil will start leaning again within two seasons. We’ve seen it enough times to say it plainly: this is the kind of job where doing it twice costs double. FAQs

Belgard composite fence systems are engineered for a 25 – 40 year structural lifespan, but the real-world Woodland Hills number is closer to 20 – 30 years for east-facing lines and 15 – 20 years for west-facing lines that take the afternoon sun. Post hardware and internal retainers fail before the concrete panels do.
Yes, in about half of cases. A single leaning post, a stripped post cap, or a sagging gate is repairable. If multiple posts have shifted and panels are cracked at the tongue line, replacement is the honest call. We’ll tell you which one you’re in before we propose any work.
Standard post-and-panel replacement runs 2 to 4 days for a typical Woodland Hills lot. That includes demolition, footing work, and gate re-alignment. Concrete setting time in SoCal air usually lets us hang panels on day two or three.
We stock the most common Belgard fence post sizes, post caps, panel retainers, and gate hardware in our local Woodland Hills inventory. Odd-ball series parts or special panel depths can take 5 to 10 business days from the distributor. We’ll give you the timeline in writing before any order is placed.
